Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo agree to part ways

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to leave Manchester United after two spells with the club, with immediate effect. The Portugal forward has been with United for a total of almost 7 years, scoring an impressive 145 goals in 346 appearances.

However, Ronaldo’s recent interview has seen the player criticize the club and manager Erik ten Hag, leading to United deciding to part ways with the 37-year-old. In the interview, Ronaldo claimed members of the United hierarchy were trying to force him out of Old Trafford and doubted him when he said he could not attend pre-season due to his daughter being ill in hospital.

United released a statement following Ronaldo’s interview, saying they would consider their response after the full facts had been established. Now, it has been confirmed that Ronaldo is to leave United with immediate effect. It is a sad end for Ronaldo at United, who has been a hugely successful and popular player during his time at the club. Everyone at United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.
