Jackson was born in Banjul, The Gambia, to Senegalese parents. At the age of 16, he relocated to Ziguinchor, Senegal, where he refined his skills playing in the streets.
He had a lot of untapped ability, but he wasn’t playing for a professional club until he was 17 years old. His father even encouraged him to abandon football at the time, but Jackson claims he was too stubborn to do so, even dropping out of school at 16 to focus only on his game.
Nic’s skill was finally recognized when he was seen at a street tournament by Senegalese team Casa Sports. He impressed so much in his first two games for his first professional club that he was called up to the national team.
Jackson, who had just turned 18 and was already known as the “Senegalese Neymar,” was signed by Senegalese team Casa Sports in the summer of 2019.
After joining our under-19 squad, he moved up to the B team. However, he spent the majority of 2020–21 on loan at second division Mirandés, where he only managed one goal and made little impression.
The following season, he returned to Villarreal B and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring five goals, two more in the promotion playoffs, and making an appearance for Senegal at the World Cup.
Then there came 2022–2023, which was essentially a two-season narrative. He played in 14 games between August and December, scoring one goal, before missing nearly three months due to a hip issue that ended his season
But, beginning in April, he went on fire, scoring 10 goals and assisting twice in 11 games,10 goals in only 780 minutes of sport. He was named La Liga Player of the Month in May and completed his Villarreal career with a goal against Atlético Madrid.
€35 million is sensible for someone with so few top-level matches, but observing him over the last two months, his finishing has improved considerably, and we could be looking at a player worth twice that fairly fast.
After a remarkable 2022–2023 La Liga season in which he scored 12 goals, the Senegal international inked an eight-year deal.
When Chelsea hosted Liverpool on the first day of the 2023–24 season, he made his Chelsea debut. Two games later, at Stamford Bridge, he scored his first goal against Luton Town.
Jackson scored his first Chelsea hat-trick at the beginning of November 2023 in a thrilling 4-1 victory at Tottenham, after scoring additional goals against Burnley away and Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
