The national squad of Senegal is capable of progressing past group stages at the World Cup, which will begin in six days, according to the ambassador of Senegal to Qatar, who made the announcement to local media over the weekend.
A significant milestone for the African continent is the squad’s participation in this big international sporting competition among 32 nations, and Senegalese supporters from Senegal as well as those who live in the GCC, Europe, and the US are traveling to Doha to cheer for their side.
Senegal made history by being the first nation to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2002. They made an early impact by upsetting the incumbent champion France and moving on to the round of 16.
After overcoming Egypt in the qualifications, they are now ready to make their third appearance after previously failing to qualify for the World Cup again before 2018.
Senegal hopes to successfully represent the African continent during the competition, along with other eligible African nations like Morocco, Ghana, Tunisia, and Cameroon, through athletic accomplishments and artistic performances that pay homage to African culture.
