Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed dissatisfaction with the credibility of the Ballon d’Or and FIFA The Best awards, citing Lionel Messi’s recent victories.
Despite Ronaldo’s outstanding performance of scoring 54 goals for Al-Nassr, he was not shortlisted for the FIFA Best Male Player of 2023 and failed to make the top 30 of the Ballon d’Or.
Messi, on the other hand, secured his eighth Ballon d’Or and was named the FIFA Best Male Player, leading Ronaldo to question the recognition process.
Ronaldo emphasized the importance of considering the entire season and pointed out that numbers are facts, suggesting that his remarkable goal-scoring achievements should not have been overlooked.
In response to his exclusion, Ronaldo stated, “The numbers are there, and the numbers don’t deceive.”
Despite facing skepticism during his tenure at Manchester United and the national team, Ronaldo highlighted his exceptional period at Al Nassr and his passion for the game, expressing his determination to continue playing as long as he enjoys it.
