Reality bites: Ronaldo’s desperation to leave Al-Nassr hits a wall

According to recent reports, Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be desperate to leave Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club he joined in January.

Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr came with a record-breaking £173million per year price tag, but his current team has seen a decline in their results since his arrival.

The team now trails the league leaders by three points and has been eliminated from the Saudi Arabian Cup.

Ronaldo has scored 12 league goals in 15 games for Al-Nassr, but his goal return has recently declined, coinciding with the team’s struggles to find solutions on the pitch.

A report in El Nacional suggests that Ronaldo is keen to leave Riyadh after just four months and return to Madrid, where he met his partner Georgina Rodriguez.

Will Real sign Ronaldo?

Despite his desire to return to Real Madrid, the club’s president Florentino Perez has reportedly rejected the possibility, citing that Ronaldo would not benefit the club’s sporting project.

However, Perez has allegedly offered Ronaldo an ambassadorial role when he retires from playing.

Ronaldo was also offered to Atletico Madrid, but the club ultimately decided against the move due to the strong feelings amongst its fanbase.

Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United in November was mutually agreed upon after he fell out of favor with coach Erik ten Hag.

It is believed that Ronaldo will not receive payment for the remaining seven months of his contract with the club.

It remains to be seen where Ronaldo’s future lies, but it is clear that he is looking for a new challenge and a return to Madrid.
