In the Champions League, Paris St-Germain defeated AC Milan handily, and Kylian Mbappe scored the game’s winning goal to take the lead in Group F.
The hosts currently have a two-point advantage over Borussia Dortmund, who defeated Newcastle 1-0 on Wednesday.
In the 32nd minute, Mbappe scored the first goal of the match against Milan with a powerful shot into the bottom corner.
Additionally, goals in the second half from Lee Kang-in and Randal Kolo Muani gave the French champs all three points.
With his strike from the edge of the box, Mbappe misled Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, capping off a fantastic run by the 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery, who has already scored 13 goals in 13 games for PSG and France this season.
Luis Enrique’s team controlled and appeared to have increased their advantage in the 48th minute, but the video assistant referee disallowed Ousmane Dembele’s excellent curling finish due to a foul in the build-up.
After Maignan stopped Dembele’s shot and Kolo Muani scored on the rebound five minutes later, PSG scored twice.
The 2020 finalists concluded with a solid showing when Maignan tipped a late Mbappe strike onto the post.
And following further excellent work from adolescent Zaire-Emery, replacement Lee Kang-in completed the victory with a side-footed goal.
With two points from their first three games, Milan is still without a win in the Champions League this season and is positioned last in Group F.
