How is Baseball Played ?

Baseball is a team sport in which there are two squads of nine players each. The object of the game is to run around a diamond-shaped field of four bases while hitting a ball and scoring more runs than the other side.

A batter from the opposing side is sent to home plate to start their turn at bat while one team takes the field to play defense to start the game. The hitter tries to hit the ball with a bat after the defensive team’s pitcher throws it to him from an elevated mound.

The batter must attempt to advance to first base if he hits the ball into play, and any other runners already on base must likewise try to do the same.

Before the runners can get to it, the defensive team tries to snag the ball and throw it to a teammate at a base. A runner must go back to the dugout if they are forced out by the defensive team by being tagged out or forced out.

A home run occurs when a batter smashes the ball over the fence or outside the field of play, allowing the batter and any runners already in scoring position. Each team gets nine innings to try to score as many runs as they can while taking turns at bat and in the field. The winning team is the one with the most runs at the end of the contest.

Baseball Rules

Each team has one opportunity to bat and one opportunity to field in each of the game’s nine innings.
The offensive team must receive a pitch from the defensive team, and the batter must attempt to put the ball in play. Within 12 seconds of receiving the ball or when the batter is prepared in the batter’s box, the pitcher must throw the ball to the plate.
A ball is a pitch that is delivered outside of the authorized strike zone and that the batter does not swing at. Four balls result in a walk.

Three strikes results in an out. A pitch that is thrown inside the defined strike zone and is not swung at by the batter is referred to as a strike. If a defensive player catches a ball hit in fair territory before it touches the ground or tags a runner with the ball while the runner is off base, the offensive player is out.
All runners who are in scoring position at the time a home run is scored when the hitter smacks the ball over the outfield fence in fair territory.
The game is won by the team with the most runs after nine innings. In the event of a tie, extra innings are played to decide the winner.

Of fact, the game of baseball has a lot more intricacies and rules, but this gives you a fundamental idea of how it works.
