Bale has displayed some impressive golfing skills recently, and former Wales, Tottenham, and Real Madrid footballers have been turning heads at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Unfortunately, high winds in California meant that play on Saturday had to be suspended at all three courses being used for the tournament.
Bale will miss the final round, with only professionals permitted to play. Despite the disappointment, Bale’s performance has been impressive, with playing partner Joseph Bramlett tying for second on ten under after 13 holes of his third round.
Bale is tied for 16th at 15 under in the pro-am event, which has been curtailed to 54 holes. He had some great highlights during the third round, including a monster putt on the 13th.
The tournament, due to finish on Sunday, has now been pushed back to Monday, with the third round resuming at 8 a.m. local time (1600GMT) and the fourth round, featuring the top 65 pros and ties, starting at 1230 local time (2030 GMT). After the competition, Bale commented,
“The last couple of weeks have been amazing. It’s amazing to have people admire my game, they have put a bit too much pressure on my shoulders!”
Bale’s golfing career is still in its early stages, but his performance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has been impressive.
He has been able to compete in a field of experienced pros, and his potential has been recognized by some of the world’s best players. Watching how his golfing career progresses over the coming years will be interesting.
