The world’s first in-stadium electric karting circuit will be built below Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium as part of a 15-year strategic relationship between Formula 1 and the club.
A new driver academy program created to find and develop the upcoming generation of F1 drivers will debut alongside the circuit when it opens later this year. In addition, as part of the relationship, Formula 1 and Tottenham Hotspur will work to increase diversity in the motorsports sector, introduce young people to possible professions in engineering and software development, and provide apprenticeship and employment possibilities for local children.
The two companies have also committed to sustainability activities, with Spurs wanting to cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by 2040 and Formula 1 hoping to achieve zero carbon by 2030.
Stefano Domenicali, who is the President and CEO of Formula 1, said on the new alliance:
“As we develop our sport, working with famous companies like Tottenham Hotspur enables us to introduce Formula 1 and racing to a wider range of spectators. Families, friends, and aspiring drivers from all over the world will want to go there and enjoy the karting experience, attracting new audiences and providing an accessible entry point into the world of motorsport.“
Daniel Levy, the chairman, added:
“Our goal ever since this stadium’s construction has been to push the envelope as far as possible in order to provide experiences of the highest caliber that will draw visitors from all over the world all year long.
We are really enthusiastic about the benefits that our international, governmental, and local communities will get from this long-term cooperation with F1.”

Formula 1 hopes to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030, while Spurs hopes to achieve zero emissions between 2030 and 2040.
