Ex-United manager looms as Bayern’s next boss

Bayern Munich’s managerial situation is under scrutiny, with Xabi Alonso emerging as a potential successor to Thomas Tuchel, should the club decide to part ways with the current manager.

Alongside Alonso, Zinedine Zidane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are also being considered as candidates, according to reports from Sky in Germany.

The pressure on Tuchel has intensified following Bayern’s recent 3-2 defeat to Bochum, which has left them trailing behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen by eight points.

With three consecutive defeats, including a loss to Lazio in the Champions League, Bayern are facing the possibility of a trophyless season for the first time in 12 years.

While Bayern’s immediate plan is to stick with Tuchel until the end of the season and assess the situation, the club is actively planning for a potential change in management.

Alonso, a former Bayern player, is reportedly the preferred choice internally to succeed Tuchel.

However, Tuchel remains committed to his role and is not considering resigning, leaving Bayern to carefully navigate their options for the future.
