Ex-Manchester City midfielder Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty at Chester Crown Court after denying both accusations. Earlier this year, Mendy was found not guilty of sexual offenses against a number of women, but the jury was unable to reach verdicts on the two charges.
A jury at Chester Crown Court found Benjamin Mendy not guilty of rape and attempted rape.
In October 2020, the former Manchester City star was accused of raping a 24-year-old woman in a bedroom at his Cheshire house.
He was also accused of attempting to rape a 29-year-old woman at his house two years prior.
Mendy was found not guilty by a jury of six men and six women at Chester Crown Court after denying both allegations. He claimed the interactions were mutual.

During his retrial, prosecutors claimed that while on contract with Manchester City, Mendy would hold parties and social gatherings at his residence The Spinney.
Mendy met a British student in a Barcelona nightclub in 2017, according to the court. She became close to Mendy’s friend and planned to pay him a visit at his home the following year.
