Arsenal Strengthen Squad with Signing of Poland Defender Jakub Kiwior…

Arsenal has made a statement of intent with the signing of Poland defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in a deal worth £20m. The 22-year-old, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further year at the Emirates Stadium, is the Gunners’ second signing this January after the arrival of Leandro Trossard from Brighton for £27m.

Kiwior moved to Serie A side Spezia from Slovakian outfit MSK Zilina in August 2021 and quickly established himself in the side, playing in a back three and impressing in the process. He won his first Poland cap in June last year and subsequently earned a place in his country’s World Cup squad, starting every match as they reached the last 16 before losing to France.

The defender will provide Mikel Arteta with a much-needed presence in the heart of the defense and will be a valuable asset as Arsenal looks to end a 20-year wait to win the Premier League title. The signing of Kiwior is a sign of intent from the Gunners, who are looking to bolster their squad and improve on their impressive start to the season. With the experienced defender now in the squad, Arsenal hopes to strengthen their title ambitions and challenge for the top spot in the premier league campaign.
