Boston Celtics Continue Hot Streak and Edge out Brooklyn Nets.

The Boston Celtics have edged out a 109-98 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, extending their lead in the Eastern Conference with their fifth consecutive win. Despite the absence of superstar Kevin Durant, who is sidelined with a sprained right knee ligament, the Celtics were able to make a late surge to take the victory. The Nets had a strong start in the first quarter, but the Celtics were able to rally in the fourth quarter and pull away for the win. Marcus Smart led the way for the Celtics with 16 points and six rebounds and credited their win to their ability to “get out and run.”

The Celtics have been hot lately, with their last five wins coming against the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, and now the Nets. It’s clear that Boston is a force to be reckoned with this season, and they’ll be looking to stay atop the Eastern Conference standings as the season progresses. It’s unclear how long Kevin Durant will be out of action, but the Nets will need to find a way to overcome his absence if they want to challenge the Celtics for the top spot in the East. Until then, the Celtics will continue to capitalize on their recent momentum and look to remain at the top of the standings.
