Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a big move in the January transfer window, with the Red Devils targeting PSV star Cody Gakpo. The 23-year-old Dutchman is seen as the perfect replacement for the departed Cristiano Ronaldo, and United are prepared to splash out up to €50million to bring him to Old Trafford.
Gakpo was close to signing for United in the summer transfer window, but the club opted to sign Antony instead. However, the Reds are still interested in securing a deal for the pacy forward, who is understood to want to join the club and work under manager Erik ten Hag.
Gakpo has been in fine form for PSV this season, scoring 13 times and providing 17 assists in all competitions. He also impressed at the World Cup in Qatar, scoring three times before the Netherlands’ quarter-final defeat to Argentina.
It is clear that United are in the market for a forward and Gakpo seems to be their top target. With the January transfer window fast approaching, the Red Devils will be hoping to get the deal done quickly and secure the services of the talented young attacker.
