Cameroon stuns Brazil in a historic win

The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar ended with a dramatic finish in Group G, with Brazil and Switzerland both finishing on 6 points and Cameroon ending up on 4 points. Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon made history by becoming the first player since Zinedine Zidane in 2006 to both score and be sent off in a World Cup match.

The final match of Group G saw Brazil held to a 0-1 defeat by Cameroon, while Switzerland claimed the group’s second qualification spot with a 3-2 win over Serbia. For Brazil, this was a disappointing end to their campaign as they failed to top the group.

Brazil finished the group stage with 6 points, the same as Switzerland, but with an inferior goal difference. It was a different story for Cameroon, who had a great tournament and can look back on their performance with pride. Aboubakar’s goal in the final match was the difference between them and Brazil, and it was a fitting way to end the tournament for the African nation. The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar was a success for both Brazil and Switzerland, with both teams qualifying for the knockout stages. However, it was Cameroon who will be remembered most fondly, thanks to Aboubakar’s historic goal and red card.
