Ivan Toney, a suspended striker for Brentford, has made comments that appear to be a move toward Arsenal, despite the fact that he had recently insulted the team.
After confessing to 232 infractions of the Football Association’s betting regulations, Toney was handed an eight-month suspension from football in May. Because of this, he won’t be eligible to play for the Bees until at least January 16, 2024. In a tell-all interview he gave to the YouTube channel Diary of a CEO three months later, Toney made some fascinating remarks regarding the Gunners.
Toney has dispelled the idea that he was an early Arsenal supporter by admitting that he actually supports Liverpool, though he does still have feelings for the red half of north London.
Large portions of the Emirates supporters have responded favorably to the comments online, and Arsenal was previously connected with a bid for Toney before deciding to sign Gabriel Jesus. Given his history with Toney, it is still unknown whether manager Mikel Arteta would support the notion.
Despite the fact that the two had never physically fought, it is safe to say Arteta did not appreciate some of Toney’s social media activity. Following Brentford’s victory over Arsenal on the opening night of the 2021/22 season; “Nice kick about with the boys.”
