Chelsea Flash Sale Continues: Loftus Cheek on his way out?

Chelsea and AC Milan have struck a £18 million agreement for Ruben Loftus-Cheek to transfer to the San Siro.

Loftus-Cheek, who has a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, is likely to end his nearly 20-year affiliation with the West London club. In a career marred by injuries, the 27-year-old has made 155 appearances for the Blues in all competitions.

The Lewisham-born midfielder has signed personal terms with former Chelsea colleague Fikayo Tomori to join him in Milan. The sum is planned to be £15 million upfront, with a further £3 million paid in add-ons at a later date.

Loftus-Cheek made his professional debut for Chelsea in 2014, but he didn’t really break through as a well-established Premier League midfielder until 2017/18, when he spent the season on loan at Crystal Palace. The English midfielder performed admirably for Palace, but when he returned to Chelsea, he sustained a catastrophic Achilles injury that sidelined him for over a year.
