Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been praised as a “gent” after he came to the rescue of Aston Villa Women’s Alisha Lehmann on a night out.
The Swiss international was reportedly mobbed by fans as she entered Chinawhite Manchester earlier this month, but Rashford asked staff to usher her to his VIP room with him and his friends instead.
Despite it being the first time they had met, the pair exchanged a few words before carrying on partying with their separate groups of friends. Lehmann later praised Rashford for his chivalry, describing him as a “gent.”
Lehmann, who boasts a huge social media following of 13 million on Instagram, recently split from Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
However, rumours circulated in February over a potential romance with Petros Tsitsipas, a Greek tennis player.
After he commented on one of her social media posts, Lehmann agreed to play mixed doubles with Tsitsipas, and his brother Stefanos, a top tennis player, sent her a signed Wilson racquet in the post.
Comparing Rashford and Lehmann
Meanwhile, Lehmann’s Villa side have been performing well in the Women’s Super League this season, currently sitting fifth in the table after winning nine of their 19 league matches.
The midfielder has scored three goals and provided two assists for Villa this term and recently won Man of the Match in a 5-0 victory over Leicester.
On the other hand, Rashford has been in sensational form for Manchester United, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in the Premier League as the Red Devils chase a Champions League spot.
He played a pivotal role in United’s recent 1-0 victory over Villa, providing the assist for the winning goal.
With United currently sitting fourth in the table, seven points ahead of fifth-place Liverpool with a game in hand, the pressure is on for them to secure a top-four finish.
Rashford’s act of kindness towards Lehmann has earned him further admiration from fans and demonstrates his caring nature off the pitch.
